Aftercare for Gel Nails

💅 Do not go swimming for 48 hours or have a long soak in the bath.

💅 Do not use harsh chemicals when cleaning.
💅 Do not pick or peel the gel off as this damages natural nails.

💅 Continue to use Cuticle Oil after treatment.

💅 Lanolin & petrolium oil based products affect the wearability of Gelcolor.

💅 Cuticle Oil is essential to look after the natural nail, this will keep the natural nail healthy and nourished ready for the next application.

Removal of GelColor

💅 We offer a free soak off service when you return to re-apply gels that applied at Dew within 2 weeks.

 💅 At Dew we use Expert touch soak off gel nasils,contains moisturisers and aloe so much kinder when removing Gelcolor.Not pure acetone as this dehydrates and strips the nail plate of moisture which over time will cause the natural nail to become weak and brittle.

💅 Do not pull GelColor off as this takes off layers of the natural nail causing them to become weak and damaged.

💅 Once removed we strongly advise to continue using Cuticle Oil. 

Chipping and smudging

💅 If you chip or smudge your  gel nails within 72 hours, we will be delighted to repair the effected nail(s) within 5 days.
💅 Outside this period there will be a small fee, please refer to price list.
💅 We will repair chipped nails free of charge for clients who want the same color applied. If a client chooses a different product, there will be an additional charge.

Aftercare for waxing

After your waxing appointment, you may expect the area to be red or tender, some may experience blood spots due to thicker, coarser hair. 

For the first 24 hours after a waxing service, avoid the following to prevent irritating the skin:

  • Touching or scratching the treated area.

  • Exfoliating the treated area.

  • Avoid hot showers as the area will be sensitive. Do not wash or scrub this area.

  • Saunas and steam rooms.

  • Exercise, gyms and swimming.

  • Sunbathing, sunbeds or any sunlight and UV exposure. 

  • Applying products to the waxed area such as deodorants, make-up, lotions, soaps, powders, perfumes, self-tanning products etc.

To soothe and calm the skin we suggest regularly applying an Aloe Vera gel. This will rehydrate the skin and soothe any discomfort you may experience. Tea tree oil can also be applied to the area for its antibacterial and ensures the area remains bacteria free.

Aftercare for facials

After a facial treatment the skin can be a little sensitive. The following advice will ensure you continue to benefit from your treatment.

Please follow the advice below at least 6 hours after your facial treatment:

  • Avoid wearing make-up.  Lipstick / gloss and mascara may be worn

  • Try to avoid any heat treatments such as saunas, steam rooms, sun beds, this is because the top layer of dead skin cells have been removed resulting in the skin becoming sensitive.

  • Avoid swimming due to chlorine in water.

  • Avoid touching or rubbing the face.

  • Avoid harsh products on the face e.g. soaps, moisturisers.

  • After your treatment, you will not need to cleanse or moisturise the skin until the following day.

Please follow the advice below in-between your facial treatments:

  • Always remove all traces of make-up at the end of the day.

  • Cleanse, tone and moisturise twice a day using suitable products for your skin type.

  • Try to use products which contain an SPF.

  • Exfoliate 1-2 times a week. This depends on your skin type.

  • Use a face mask once a week or in-between facials.

  • Eat balanced meals, drink lots of water (6 – 8 glasses per day).

  • For long term results have regular or monthly facials.

Aftercare for massage

To achieve maximum benefits from the treatments, For the next 24 hours you must:

  • Drink plenty of water or any herbal teas

  • Make time to rest and relax, give your body time to heal itself.

  • Try to avoid any caffeine.

  • Try to avoid alcohol and heavy meals.

Aftercare for Microblading

Here are some aftercare instructions for the microblading treatment for the first 7 days:

  • Do not let any water, lotion, soap, or makeup touch your eyebrow

area. As we recommended, wipe the skin gently in the morning and

evening with wet cotton and apply the healing balm.

  • During the shower, keep your face away from the shower head or

take a bath, avoid steam rooms, sauna and sweaty exercises.

During these 7 days, please avoid:

  • Increased sweating

  • Practicing sports

  • Swimming

  • Hot sauna, hot bath, or Jacuzzi

  • Sun tanning or salon tanning

  • Exposure to UV/UVA Rays or chemicals as they have been known

to cause a shift in color and premature fading

  • Any laser or chemical treatments peelings, and/or any creams

    containing Retin-A or Glycolic acid on the treatment area

  • Picking, peeling, or scratching of the micro pigmented area in

order to avoid scarring of the area or removal of the pigment

  • Drinking alcohol in excess, as it may lead to slow healing of wounds

  • Driving in open air vehicles such as convertibles, boats, bicycles,

or motorcycles

  • Touching of the eyebrow area except for when rinsing and applying

the post-care cream with a cotton swab.

Aftercare for Spray Tan

  • Leave your tan to develop for a minimum of 8 hours.

  • Avoid soaking your skin in a bath.

  • Avoid going swimming.

  • Talc can be applied to the whole body or to certain areas to help with that sticky feeling.

  • Shower between 8-12 hours after your appointment.

  • Use lukewarm water. Limit your time with the water and the use of soaps,shower gels, or scrubs.

  • Wash hair separately to avoid your shampoo covering your body.

  • Avoid any oil-based products on the skin for several days after you have washed your tan off.

Spray tans can last up to 5 days if aftercare is applied correctly.
